Roswell TV Show Facts: "When Katherine Heigl was nine years old, her aunt invented a hair care product and wanted to advertise it. She used Katherine's photo in her advertising and later sent the photos out to several modelling agencies. In less than a month, 'Wilhelmina', the international modelling agency signed her to a contract. Several tv commercials and magazine modelling jobs got her noticed and she began getting acting job offers. She has appeared on many magazine covers such as TV Guide, Maxim, and Teen. She also auditioned for all three female parts on Roswell before getting the part as Isabel. She got the lead role in the 1994 film, 'My Father the Hero', even though Alicia Silverstone also tried for the part. Her older brother Jason died when she was young after being thrown from the back of a pickup truck. "
